What is the purpose of Men’s Ministries?
The purpose of Men’s Ministries, which also includes LifeBuilders for our Young Men is to give men a platform through which both men can understand and develop skills for becoming good fathers, husbands and sons.
Men’s Ministries is therefore, that department which seeks to develop programmes and a focus for enriching the life of men spiritually, emotionally and socially. Just look at some of these statistics below:
- By the age of 16 the majority of men have left the church.
- Most church workers are women and not men.
- Men in the UK commit the most violent crimes.
- The majority of men in the church are not baptised in the Holy Spirit.
- Too many young men claim not to personally know any positive male role models in their families or church let alone the community.
What kind of activities does the Men’s Ministries organise?
We at Lee Church have two teams, namely Joy & Peace that regularly challenge each other in:
- Biblical & General Knowledge quizzes
- Social & Sports activities
- Training & Educational events

We have also a brilliant line up of cricketers who are ready to take on any challenges from any team, anywhere, anytime!

Every year we host an annual award called the” Man of the Year award” here we look for the most outstanding man that has made a difference within our Church or our community. Past winners include

- Mr. J Moore - 2004
- Mr. R Yarde – 2005

Lee Men’s Ministries Department
This department can look back at several occasions where through God we have been made an impact and been successful as Men working together in unity.
- Winning the Cricket Cup 2001 challenge against NTCG Clapton District.
- Performing in our community - Lewisham Peoples Day July 2003 & 2004
- Souls saved and added to the church monthly.
- Success at the National Men's Ministries Conference 2006 - 5 awards won for 2006, including Secretary of the Year award which goes to Conrad Brady our District Secretary.
- Performing at community events - Lewisham Winter Festival (Opening of Christmas lights) – November 2006
